We have moved to Facebook

This will be my last post on the Make a Garment a Month Blog.  You have all been a wonderful community and we've made some great garments - it's always a pleasure to see what everyone has made.

For personal reasons, I can no longer facilitate this blog - it does take quite a lot of time, and I need that now in my off blog life as it is getting busier.

I also find that Facebook is a much more interactive medium, which works well for a community group. already our numbers have expanded and there is a lot more creative energy.

It's a great pity that some of you can't come over - but you all have sound personal reasons as well- so I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you well.

And you can always follow our members on their own personal blogs.

For those of you who want to join us on Facebook, please either friend Sarah Liz (the facilitator) on Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/sarah.liz.104

Or email Sarah Liz :  stylishsarah251@gmail.com.

Happy New Year and good luck with your sewing :)

Sarah Liz

Goodbye!

Hi all! Chances of me finishing my December garment in December are, uhm, zero! On the other hand, I may be the first one to complete a 2015 Christmass dress. Always look at the bright side of sewing! I just posted pictures of a new Mabel skirt I did finish recently on my blog. For the next year I have lots and lots of sewing plans: coats, jackets, a wedding guest dress and of course high on my list is finishing my French jacket. So many plans, so little time. That's why I won't move to Facebook with you guys. I blog, and I use Instagram. Keeping more social media platforms up to date will cut into my sewing time, which is scarce enough as it is. I will keep a close eye on your blogs and you're more than welcome to follow mine if you want to check what I'm up to. I will miss the community feel of Make a Garment a Month and I thank Sarah Liz for starting and hosting this blog. Wishing you all a very Happy New Sewing Year!

Xmas dress

Hello everyone !

Here is the last dress for 2014 !
Perfect for eating a huge Xmas dinner !
A bit too short. I need to see if I can work on the hem to lenghten it a little.
I'm not going to follow you on Facebook so I'll come and see your creations on your blogs !
A big thank you to Sarah Liz for hosting this meeting and always being kind and supportive. You're a gem !
Happy sewing,

Karine

December plans

Is it too late to post my December plans? After a muslin marathon I finally decided what pattern to use for my festive dress. It will be a mix of McCall's 6696 and Burda 5/2010#137, with a half circle skirt. I'm using a black jacquard fabric and some lovely silver buttons. Happy holidays!

December Garment In Progress

Hello..
I am making a simple basic long sleeve top for December.
Pattern : Moda Diana no 75 - 3P size 34/36
Fabric : 2 yards of knit cotton in purple color
As the minimum size of the pattern is 38/40, I have to grade down the pattern for size 34/36. Even so, I am still thinking that the pattern still too big for me. I will see...

The picture below is my sewing in progress that I shared in My Facebook Page two days ago,

I wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
