The not too pricey November outfit

Hello !

I've just finished my outfit for the month.
The top is made of the fabric coming from a big skirt (forgot to take a "before" picture).
The skirt comes from a dress (that I bought 15 years ago.).
I lined it with a recycled bedsheet.
I bought a brand-new zipper though !
Both patterns are Lutterloh's.
I think the skirt will be very useful since I'll be able to wear it with most of my printed tops.

Happy sewing to everyone !

November Challenge Done and Dusted!

Go me... this was actually finished about 10 days ago! But in typical Dawn-style, it took ages to get around to doing the photos! I confess I kind of rushed to get this finished as we are away on holiday atm, and I so wanted to get it done in time so I could bring it with me.

This is McCalls 7026 View C but without the shaped hem at the back. I sort of cut it off on the pattern by mistake.... oopps! You can read more about this top and see photos of the matching skirt that I also made, on My Blog HERE

Happy Sewing Everyone and Happy Thanksgiving to all our American MAGAM Bloggers :)

December's theme.

Hello everyone,

I know most of us are finishing our November garments - or haven't yet started -or won't be making one at all -  but I thought I should get December's theme up early.  Most people get busy with Thanksgiving in America, and Christmas elsewhere.  So I thought I would give you all advance notice so you could fit this theme into your sewing timeline.

Of course, as always, you can always make something else that you want or need to make.

I'll be away for a few days soon, so will be updating the November Gallery when I get back.

Happy sewing everyone,

Sarah Liz

BurdaStyle Jacket In Progress

Hello..
I am making a black jacket for my November MAGAM. For the pattern, I am using  BurdaStyle Jacket 09/2014 size 36 and for the fabrics, I am using 2 yards of linen in black color and 2 yards of gingham check fabric (poly-cotton blend) for the lining. Both of the fabrics are from stash.

And here is a picture of my sewing in progress that I posted in My Facebook Page
Happy sewing to you all!

Lovenickky's Nov project is done! Butterick 5247 sweater dress

My MAGAM November project is done! Yay! I used the tried and true Butterick 5147 knit dress pattern and made this Festive Sweater Dress really quickly.

I was too lazy to put on leggings for this photo but will definitely be wearing leggings/jeggings with this dress/tunic.
My review on PatternReview.com is here. You can also see more about this project on My Blog.

November PR makes

On Pattern Review is a surprise sewing bee challenge and I can show you my entries for Round 1 and Round 2.

Round 1: A-line skirt challenge
Over 300 people signed up and over 140 people entered
51 people went through to Round 2.

Round 2: Reuse men's business shirts

The creativity aspect of this challenge ended up my making two pieces (three if you count the wristlets)  that were Steampunk inspired.

Here's a link to Round 2 gallery.

Round 3:?
21 people are now through to Round 3. I made the cut so I'm waiting to find out what sewing mischief I'll be in for the next 5 days.
