May Garment: Ooh Shiny!

My May garment was full of challenges and shine, but I'm very happy with the end result. Here I am with my husband Bob as we got ready to step out for the annual Smithson Society Gala on May 31.

I made the dress, the vest, the tie, and the cover for the handbag.

Details on my blog!

  1. It's so elegant! I love the back of the dress (shown on her blog). The bag, the vest, the dress - all very nice. Did you have any problem with that train in the back? I love it, but I'd be afraid people would be stepping on it all the time. Still, this was a common fashion at one time. Edwardian? I can't remember.

  2. The train didn't give me any trouble at all. When I went down stairs, I made sure to have my husband behind me to allow me space and make sure no one stepped on it. Otherwise it wasn't an issue.

    1. That's good. I had a feeling that somehow, that I shouldn't have worried about that.
