Completed May Dress

Hello, everyone! I'm so excited to be back with a post to show you my completed May garment.

I adored the Simplicity 2215 pattern (I made view A) and I'm so happy with my first ever dress! I really enjoyed making this and I feel like this will be a very useful addition to my wardrobe. I was feeling so inspired by the fabric and the pattern that I even knit a cardigan to go with it.

You can visit my blog here for more details.

I'm looking forward to June and feel completely energized for another challenge garment!

  2. Oh my, that is lovely. I love the combination of the polka dots. Thanks, too, for your comments about sizing. I have this pattern and want to make it for one of my daughters. Now I'll know to where to start the muslin process.

    1. Thank you! It's a really lovely pattern and I love the pleat details but there seemed to be a lot of ease built into it so it was a good idea to check how much ease I wanted to have in the finished garment.

  4. I agree with everyone - a great first dress. Wonderful photograph as well - when I saw it come up on the screen, I thought it must have been your inspiration photo, then I read the post and saw it was you in your first ever me made dress. Absolutely well done, it's gorgeous in every respect.

    1. Thank you! My husband took the pictures and he did do a really good job. It can feel so awkward having pictures taken like this but he does such a good job helping me feel a bit more comfortable. I can't wait to make more dresses!

    1. Thank you. The covered buttons came out really well and were quite fun to make actually. I thought they would echo the dots well and I'm so glad it worked!
