January GAM and Challenge

Below is my finish for January! The Cascading Ruffle skirt from fabric designer Joel Dewberry. The details on the garment can be found here at my blog, as well as details on the two sewing techniques tried for Sarah Liz's "new beginnings" challenge. Both were fun and super easy but really will add to a garment.

This is not the garment I planned on sewing and I am not even sure I really like it! I suppose that happens sometimes...in any event, it got done!

Now on to February!!

  3. Yes, it does happen sometimes - but sometimes learning new things is a way to find out these things - and you have a great new skill to transfer. It is actually gorgeous, so I hope also you have just the right opportunity for it.

Thank you! I wanted some "drama", trying to sew more couture like. :)

    1. Dorothy,

I am going out this weekend to see if I can find a nice blouse to complete the outfit. I think I will enjoy it more after that!

  7. Your skirt is a great way to learn some new techniques and a plan black top and tights might make it feel a lot more comfortable to wear.
